The 70-year-old Moiseyev Dance Company has captivated international audiences for decades with evocations of traditional dances. Its artistic director and founder, Igor Moiseyev, died in 2007 at age 101. With 200 dancers and an active repertory of over 200 dances, the company presents its “grand mix of theater, dance, cultural anthropology, silent film comedy, operetta and Eisenstein film epic all rolled into one” (Chicago Sun-Times). The group performs at 6 p.m. Jan. 27 at Hill Auditorium in a University Musical Society-sponsored show. (Photo courtesy Opus 3 Artists)
