MHealthy is moving its annual free health and well-being event at Michigan Stadium to a more convenient location — your computer screen, tablet or mobile phone.

Faculty and staff can choose among more than 20 sessions at MHealthy’s all-virtual “Be Well Your Way” event Oct. 1. It includes expert-led webinars, mental well-being sessions, exercise classes, financial wellness seminars, recipe demos and more.

“Taking care of yourself is more important than ever, especially as we juggle work and life, sometimes in the same space,” said Colleen Greene, senior wellness coordinator for MHealthy. “Since we can’t host our annual event at the Big House this year, we’re coming to your house, your campus, your office, or wherever you might be working right now.”

Sessions are scheduled for 7-8 a.m., 11 a.m.-1 p.m. and 4-6 p.m. Most are 15-30 minutes long, and participants can choose among the topics that most interest them.

The late-morning and afternoon blocks feature health and well-being experts in live, interactive sessions focused on:

  • Financial well-being.
  • Coping with stress and change.
  • Family well-being.
  • Cooking demonstration.
  • Mental and emotional health.
  • Optimizing your home workspace, and more.

Certified instructors will also lead exercise and relaxation classes covering:

  • Meditation and family meditation.
  • Yoga.
  • Back care.
  • Zumba.
  • Abs and back.

“We’ve created dozens of special presentations and demonstrations focusing on all areas of your well-being,” Greene said. “Get moving, find your center, nourish your body and mind, or find balance in your life or mood. There’s something for everyone.”

This free event is open to U-M faculty and staff. Due to participant limits in Zoom, employees are asked to register for no more than three sessions.
