A community gathering at the Museum of Ojibwa Culture, 500 N. State St., St. Ignace, will follow the meeting. It also is open to the public.

The northern Michigan visit is designed to strengthen the ties that bind U-M to all corners of the Great Lakes state.

The university’s executive officers and other leaders will accompany the board, meeting and engaging with local officials, business owners, students, alumni, researchers and residents in northern lower Michigan and the Upper Peninsula.

Beside the regents meeting and community gathering, the trip will include visits to the U-M Biological Station near Pellston and Camp Michigania at Walloon Lake, and an Office of Undergraduate Admissions event in St. Ignace for local students and their families.
