The Business and Finance Department and its partners are featuring Albert Mensah at the Martin Luther King Jr. Convocation. The event takes place at 1 p.m. Jan. 20 at Rackham Auditorium, with a reception immediately following in the lobby. The theme for this year’s convocation is “Raising the Bar.”
Rising from his humble beginnings in Ghana, Mensah’s story is one of overcoming adversity. At the age of 8, with nothing more than a vision driven by a dream, he developed and set into action a plan that surpassed all barriers.
He will take the audience on a life-affirming journey from the jungle and dirt roads of Ghana to the strange and foreboding new world called New York City.
Today, Mensah speaks to organizations around the world, delivering life-changing messages that keep crowds engaged and inspired long after his presentation.
With an impressive client list that boasts Starbucks, Merrill Lynch, Boeing, John Deere Corp., and Wells Fargo Bank, he has built a strong reputation among business leaders and corporate executives as the catalyst for driving morale, increasing productivity, and enhancing team commitment through his energizing, inspirational, and often invigorating speaking engagements.
Known as the “Ambassador of Opportunity,” Mensah has authored two books, “When the Drumbeat Changes Dance a Different Dance” and “OK Means Opportunity Knocking.”
