The Gerald R. Ford Foundation has awarded 11 grants to support research in the collections of the Ford Presidential Library on North Campus.
Grant recipient Drew Meyers, a graduate student instructor in history at LSA, will use the funds for his project, “Sun Citizens: The Culture and Politics of Retirement, 1950-2000.”
Twice a year, the Gerald R. Ford Foundation awards grants to scholars to support research in the holdings of the Ford library. The grant funds support defraying the cost of travel, living, photocopying and related expenses incurred while conducting research. A total of $25,000 is typically awarded each year, promoting the library as a center for research and supporting a number of scholarly projects. The Ford Presidential Papers and other library collections focus on federal policies, institutions and politics in the 1960s and 1970s.
