Plug-in hybrid vehicles and the Smart Grid power network will be the focus of TechKnow Forum 2008, from 2-7 p.m. Oct. 23 at the Power Center for the Performing Arts.
The event is presented in partnership with MPowered, a student-led entrepreneurship organization, which funds student internships at Michigan-based alternative energy companies.
This year’s keynote speaker is John Denniston, a partner at the Silicon Valley venture-capital firm Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers. He is a co-founder, along with Al Gore, of KPCB’s Greentech Investment Initiative.
TechKnow Forum 2008 will feature industry, academic and government policy experts discussing two topics of national importance: plug-in hybrid electric vehicles and the so-called Smart Grid, an intelligent power network that reduces consumption and enables grid connections to renewable sources, such as solar and wind.
