International Institute establishes funding for global, academic innovation

The International Institute has established the International Institute Enterprise Fund (IIEF) as part of efforts to internationalize education, advance global engagement, and promote innovation in teaching and research. The purpose is to generate new ideas and approaches to encourage interdisciplinary and cross-regional collaborations. The IIEF makes available a maximum of $100,000 per year for three years. Regents meeting set for Feb. 19

The Board of Regents will have its monthly meeting at 3:30 p.m. Feb. 19 in the Anderson Room, Michigan Union. To offer public comment at the meeting, sign up in advance at www.regents.umich.edu/meetings/publform.html. Public comments on agenda items will be taken prior to their consideration. Comments on nonagenda items will follow the regular business agenda. People with disabilities who need assistance should contact the Office of the Vice President and Secretary of the University in advance at 734-763-8194. UM-Dearborn faculty, staff urged to nominate difference-maker students

The Difference Makers student recognition awards were created to identify 50 of UM-Dearborn’s Leaders and Best. Faculty and staff have the opportunity to nominate students who are making a difference now and who have the potential to have impact as future leaders. Selections will be based on academic achievement, integrity, leadership and creativity as evidenced by contributions in the classroom, on campus and/or in the broader community.
