UCLL selected to support U.S. program

The University Center for the Development of Language and Literacy has been selected to participate in the U.S. Department of State-sponsored Professional Fellows Empower Program, administered by Mobility International USA, to advance the rights and opportunities for persons with disabilities. Carol Persad, UCLL center director, has been working in Malaysia with a program team addressing the identification of dyslexia to improve educational intervention for children.

Science Learning Center offers contest, prizes

The Science Learning Center is presenting a 2014 Science As Art Contest for currently enrolled graduate and undergraduate students. The center is seeking submissions of artwork that express scientific principles, concepts, ideas, processes and/or structures. The artwork may be visual, literary, musical, video or performance-based. Cash prizes will be awarded. The submission deadline is Jan. 10. More information is at tinyurl.com/UMICHScienceAsArt.
