Museum curator combines teaching, art

Last year, 5,149 children took field trips to the U-M Museum of Art. Sixty community docents took them on tours. Many of those docents were trained by Pamela Reister.

Eduroam streamlines Wi-Fi access for traveling academics, students

U-M faculty, students, researchers and staff can now easily connect to Wi-Fi while visiting other academic institutions worldwide.

A new wireless service known as eduroam allows users from participating institutions to access a secure, encrypted wireless network using their home organization's login credentials.

New president has wide range of experience

Dr. Mark Schlissel’s career in the field of education is marked by service in a wide range of academic and administrative roles.

Schlissel, 56, born in Brooklyn, N.Y., has been provost at Brown University since 2011. He also served as interim dean of biology and medicine and professor of biology at Brown.

I am both excited and greatly honored to have been selected to succeed Mary Sue Coleman as the 14th president of the University of Michigan. My motivation as an academic leader stems from a personal belief that understanding and discovery can change the world and that education is the key to achieving social equity and economic progress.
