A third suspect has been arraigned in the July shooting death of Medical School student Paul DeWolf, and another recently pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the case.

Dajeon Lavelle Franklin, 21, of Pittsfield Township was arraigned Tuesday before 14A District Court Magistrate Thomas Truesdell on five charges, including one count of felony murder.

He also faces two charges of first-degree home invasion, a second-degree count of conspiracy to commit home invasion, and felony firearm possession, according to a press release from the Ann Arbor Police Department.

A not guilty plea was entered on Franklin’s behalf. He is being held without bond and currently is serving a sentence for an unrelated home invasion. A preliminary exam has been scheduled for Feb. 20 at the 14A-1 District Court.

DeWolf, 25, who also was a second lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force, was found shot to death in his apartment in the 200 block of North Ingalls Street on July 24, 2013.

Also charged in the case are Shaquille A.K. Jones, 21, of North Charleston, S.C., and Joei A. Jordan, 20, of Sumpter, S.C.

On Feb. 7, Jones pleaded guilty to an added charge of second-degree murder in exchange for his agreement to cooperate with authorities in the investigation and prosecution of other suspects, according to the Washtenaw County prosecutor’s office.

He also pleaded guilty to two counts of first-degree home invasion and a count of conspiracy to commit first-degree home invasion. An original count of open murder will be dismissed at Jones’ sentencing, scheduled for April 16, according to the prosecutor’s office.

A jury trial is scheduled to begin May 19 for Jordan, who faces one charge of open murder, two charges of first-degree home invasion and one charge of conspiracy to commit home invasion.
