Temporary traffic controls in effect near campus

Several streets near campus or other U-M facilities will see traffic limitations for the next few weeks due to construction projects.

Church Street traffic controls for crane removal

Temporary traffic controls will be in effect through Friday, weather permitting, on Church Street from South University Avenue to Willard Street for the removal of a large crane.

Southbound traffic on Church Street will be detoured east on South University Avenue, south on South Forest Avenue, west on Hill Street, and back to Church Street. Northbound traffic on Church Street will be detoured east on Hill Street, north on South Forest Avenue, west on South University Avenue, and back to Church Street.  ​Pedestrian traffic will be detoured around the construction area.

North Division Street traffic controls for utility construction

Temporary traffic controls will be in effect through June 24, weather permitting, on North Division Street between Catherine Street and East Kingsley Street for in order to connect new water main, remove curb and gutter, and reconstruct storm sewer structures.

North Division Street between Catherine Street and East Kingsley Street will be maintained with at least one lane of traffic remaining open in the work zone.  Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area as delays are likely.

South State Street and Eisenhower Parkway traffic controls

Temporary traffic controls will be in effect through July 11 on South State Street from I-94 to Eisenhower Parkway, and on Eisenhower Parkway from South State Street to Boardwalk Drive for sidewalk ramp replacement and road repaving.

Traffic will be maintained with at least one lane of traffic in both directions around the work zones. Toward the end of the project, there will be two separate days of milling and paving. During the milling and paving operations, traffic will experience intermittent delays at the South State Street​-Eisenhower Parkway intersection and at cross streets.

During construction, access will be maintained for emergency vehicles and pedestrians, and to driveways, to the full extent possible.

Hubbard Road closure at Green Road for utility installation

Hubbard Road will be closed Wednesday at Green Road for installation of utility piping.

Vehicle traffic will be detoured via Baxter Road and Dean Road to Green Road.  Through traffic on Green Road will not be affected.  Pedestrian traffic will be detoured around the work zone.
