Regents approve deans for Engineering, Kinesiology, Education

The Board of Regents on Thursday approved new deans for the College of Engineering and the School of Kinesiology, and an interim dean for the School of Education. Each appointment is effective July 1.

• Alec D. Gallimore has been appointed the Robert J. Vlasic Dean of Engineering. He is an Arthur F. Thurnau professor, Richard F. and Eleanor A. Towner professor of engineering, associate dean for academic affairs, professor of aerospace engineering in the College of Engineering; and and professor of applied physics, LSA. • Lori Ploutz-Snyder, a senior scientist with the Universities Space Research Association at the NASA Johnson Space Center, will serve as the next dean of the School of Kinesiology. She also was appointed professor of movement science, with tenure. Read the full story.
