Stamps senior brings Detroit to life through fashion

Penny W. Stamps School of Art & Design senior Jessica Gray remembers having a passion for fashion when she was just a child. The Detroit native would put on fashion shows for her family, and often talked about her desire to become a model. She decided to take those childhood dreams and transform them into her life’s work.

Ross student finds entrepreneurship, education at U-M

Stephen M. Ross School of Business senior Praveen Loganathan is a true entrepreneur and educator at heart. A first-generation American college student, Loganathan and his family immigrated to the United States from Sri Lanka when he was 4 years old. Once he arrived at U-M years later, he worked to make the most out of his Michigan experience.

LSA senior finds passion for advertising through advocacy

LSA senior Yumi Taguchi knows firsthand about the stigma surrounding mental illness. Her sisters struggled with depression, and Taguchi feared burdening her parents even more when she developed an eating disorder. But at U-M, the political science major sought treatment for her eating disorder and also dedicated time to mental health advocacy.

Education senior aims to teach elementary students

School of Education senior Rebecca Weiland discovered her passion for teaching through a summer job as a swim coach. She initially considered pursuing an English degree and possibly attending law school. But the summer after her freshman year, Weiland headed home to coach the city youth swimming team she worked with and competed on in previous years.
