Robbery reported on North Campus

The investigation into a Feb. 17 armed robbery on North Campus has been closed due to a lack of leads.  After the 10 p.m. incident, the victim told police he had been approached by an unknown male as he walked between two parking lots off Hayward Ave, NC 28 and NC46. The man reportedly brandished a small handgun, demanded money from the student and then fled northward on foot. Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact U-M Police Department detectives at 734-763-3434. 

Visitor arrested for aggravated assault at Ronald McDonald House

A 27-year-old visitor pleaded guilty to domestic violence in connection with a Feb. 8 incident at the Ronald McDonald House. He was arrested following a report that two subjects were fighting at the building. His girlfriend was taken by ambulance to the U-M Emergency Department for treatment of her injuries. In exchange for the Feb. 26 plea, an additional charge of assault by strangulation was dismissed.  His sentencing hearing is scheduled for April 3.
