Three students assaulted on Diag, suspects arrested

Three students were assaulted as they walked on the Diag around 2 a.m. Dec. 23.  Three suspects, all visitors, later were located and arrested. 

The suspects reportedly took one victim’s cell phone and keys before later returning the property One of the victims sought medical evaluation for his head injuries.

One suspect, 20, was arrested for outstanding warrants from another agency. He was taken to jail. The other two suspects, both 17, were arrested for unarmed robbery and assault. They were processed and released pending warrant authorization from the county prosecutor.  

Burnt papers found in Moore Building stairwell

A very small pile of burned paper and ashes was found in a Moore Building stairwell Dec. 12 around 12:33 a.m. There also were small scorch marks on the steps but no other damage. There are no suspects. 

Cash taken from Ruthven Museum register

The cash register in the Ruthven Museum gift shop was found pried open Dec. 27 and cash was missing. The incident occurred between 2:15 p.m. Dec. 24 and 11:45 a.m. Dec. 27. An exterior window was found open. There are no suspects at this time.

Access not gained in attempted burglary of Dana office

Evidence was found Dec. 29 that an attempt had been made to break into a fourth-floor office in the Dana Building sometime the previous week. Entry was not made and no property was reported missing. There are no suspects at this time.

Maintenance cart stolen from behind East Quad

A University Housing maintenance cart reportedly was taken between Dec. 11-14 from where it was parked in the lot behind the building. It had been locked with a cable lock, which was found cut. There are no suspects at this time.

Zipcar reported stolen, later recovered

A Zipcar reportedly was stolen Dec. 11 from the Fletcher Street parking structure. A week later, the vehicle was located at Briarwood Mall. The Zipcar staff could not determine whether the vehicle had been stolen or whether the tracking equipment malfunctioned. Therefore the investigation has been closed.
