The annual series of free Top of the Park outdoor concerts conclude with a bang July 5, with The United States Army Field Band and Soldier’s Chorus at 5 p.m. at the Hill Auditorium Plaza and George Bedard and the Kingpins at 8 p.m. at the North University Stage.

The United States Army Field Band travels thousands of miles each year presenting a variety of music to audiences throughout the nation and abroad. The musical backgrounds of Soldiers’ Chorus personnel range from opera and musical theatre to music education. Performances often include the music of Broadway, opera, barbershop quartet and Americana.

In an annual tradition, George Bedard and The Kingpins will close Top of the Park and the Ann Arbor Summer Festival season with their swinging rockabilly and blues. Bedard has been a key figure on the Michigan roots-rock scene for decades. His energetic guitar playing and gutsy vocals keep him on the short list of the area’s most popular performers.

The free nightly concert series (closed Mondays) is presented as part of the Ann Arbor Summer Festival. For more information, go to a2sf.org.
