MHealthy Free Focused Partnership Classes for beginners set

Thirty-minute MHealthy Free Focused Partnership Classes are available for qualified faculty and staff who want to get moving but have not been active. A Simple Steps Class gradually adds physical activity back into your life. It meets from 11:30 a.m.-noon Tuesdays and Thursdays at the KMS Building, 3621 S. State St. It also meets from 7:30-8 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays at Wolverine Tower and the University Hospital Psych Gym. The Get Fit While You Sit Class is for anyone having difficulty performing standing exercises or movements. It is from 11-11:30 a.m. Wednesdays at the KMS Building, and 7-7:30 a.m. Wednesdays at the UH Psych Gym. Call 734-764-0285 to learn more or register.

Holiday hours for U-M units, departments found online

During the holiday break, many departments and units on campus will have altered hours. For holiday season hours for specific university units and facilities, contact them directly or view information provided at their respective websites. For campus unit and website addresses and contact information, go to umich.edu and click on “Quick Links” at the upper right side of the page. A pulldown menu provides a directory and a list of schools and colleges.

Submit best ideas proposals for StaffWorks

Leverage best practices and technology to improve efficiency in your day-to-day work by sharing those ideas at U-M StaffWorks. Staff from all areas of the university and the U-M Health System celebrate success, share knowledge and network. Submit a speaker or poster presentation proposal by Dec. 21 for the conference May 11 at the Stephen M. Ross School of Business. The conference is a creation of VOICES of the Staff. Look for conference registration in March.

Pledges needed to reach U-M United Way campaign goal

With just a few weeks left to contribute to the U-M United Way campaign, contributions are at 68 percent of the $1.5 million campaign goal. Make a difference and donate today by visiting the ePledge system though Wolverine Access (in the Faculty & Staff tab under the announcement section). U-M releases annual salary report

Faculty salary increases at the U-M Ann Arbor campus for 2015-16 averaged 2.6 percent, according to figures for the university’s salary report, released Dec. 14. Salary increases for staff averaged 2.3 percent. Merit salary increases for executive officers averaged 2.67 percent. Merit increases for deans averaged 2.82 percent. The 2015-16 Faculty and Staff Salary Disclosure Report now is available on the Human Resources website at tinyurl.com/grsuhql.
