Regents meeting set for Oct. 16

The Board of Regents will have its monthly meeting at 3 p.m. Oct. 16 at UM-Flint, in Suite A, 1 Riverfront Center West. To offer public comment at the meeting, sign up in advance at www.regents.umich.edu/meetings/publform.html. Public comments on agenda items will be taken prior to their consideration. Comments on nonagenda items will follow the regular business agenda. People with disabilities who need assistance should contact the Office of the Vice President and Secretary of the University in advance at 734-764-3883. Faculty Seed Grant proposals sought

Nov. 3 is the deadline to apply for a 2014 Faculty Seed Grant. The Institute for Research on Women and Gender Faculty Seed Grant program, established in 1996, enhances scholarship on women and gender at U-M by supporting disciplinary and interdisciplinary faculty projects. Support may be requested for individual activities, such as research assistance, research-related travel, or research materials including books, microfilms and similar items. The grants also support collaborative projects, such as pilot studies or initial research efforts, study groups, or conference planning and implementation. Awards range from $500-$10,000.
