Suljo Linic, director of energy systems engineering, integrative systems and design, professor of chemical engineering and of integrative systems and design, College of Engineering, has received the 2017 Paul H. Emmett Award in Fundamental Catalysis by the North American Catalysis Society. Linic received the award in recognition of his ground-breaking contributions at the interface of heterogeneous catalysis, surface chemistry, nanoscience and computational catalysis. The Paul H. Emmett Award in Fundamental Catalysis is an international, flagship award of NACS awarded to the most influential contributors to the field of catalysis. It recognizes substantial individual contributions with emphasis on discovery and understanding of catalytic phenomena, proposal of catalytic reaction mechanisms and identification of and description of catalytic sites and species.
